SAP Hana is a framework that provides for the integration of data from an SAP system into Hana. The framework allows for the creation of relationships and the ability to create new RDBMS objects from an existing RDBMS. Hana migrations are very helpful in the performance enhancement and business strategy development of a company. The various stages of migration are quite easy and manageable. It is always better to outsource the SAP Hana migration to an organization that has the expertise in these matters. One can do it through SRI International.
The first stage of s4hana migration is compilation. In case of Hana, there are source code files and text files that need to be compiled. These compile source files and text files are available at various locations and once the compilation process is completed, one can access them using the sri-il software application. Once the compilation process is complete, the next step is the migration of data from the old database to the new one.
The second stage is the transformation of the tables of the SAP application to RDBMS. In the earlier times, most of the companies used columnar data manipulation applications such as Lotus Notes and PeopleSoft database. These applications were not compatible with the relational databases such as Hana. Hana is much more superior as it supports all types of databases including the columnar data.
When the organizations use the columnar data, a lot of space is consumed for storing the data. This is because Hana indexes every record separately and it saves a tremendous amount of memory. The result is that Hana tables consume less memory than the legacy-based application. Hana also provides consistent application performance and this contributes in the increase of profits.
When the processed data is ready to be migrated, it is passed through a pipeline. The data is extracted from the database as rows and then converted into the required data fields by the application itself. The result is that the processed data is ready for use by the application without having to wait on the LAMP server or on the user’s request. This improves the scalability of the application and makes it easier to add additional features.
Hana is highly scalable and is well integrated with one or more of the other database platforms. This makes it easy for companies to migrate their data to Hana in a simple manner. This will make it possible to make changes to the existing data without having to face any hassles. The benefits of migration include simplified reporting and data maintenance. This enables companies to provide better services to their customers and also reduce costs.
